I am a HUGE fan of the shows American Ninja Warrior and Wipe-out... and my not so secret goal in life is to be on one of those shows. However, if you know me at all you know that my upper body strength and coordination leave much to be desired. Also, those shows are televised and I am not so sure I want my shortcomings to be on display for my friends and family.
So, when a friend told me about the Hit and Run 5k, naturally I was intrigued. I went straight home and hopped on the computer to see what it was all about....and WOW...let me just tell you...this looks the perfect combination of my 2 favorite shows AND it isn't televised for the whole world to see :) I could try to describe the race to you, but the promo video below will do a much better job than me :)
Now if your heart isn't racing and your adrenaline isn't pumping after watching that, I might have to re-evaluate our friendship.
While I have run several "fun runs" like The Warrior Dash, Rugged Maniac, Dirty Duo, and the Color Run..I have never participated in an obstacle course quite like this. I figure this is the closest I will ever get to my not so secret goal :)
Lucky for me The Hit and Run 5k has so generously given me a free registration to the race and a discount code that I can share!! :)
Click here to register and then use the discount code: whattheheckwhynot when you register to receive 15% off!
Also, if you like their Facebook page and register using your Facebook you will receive and additional $5 off. This makes the registration like $31...and honestly coming from someone who has run A LOT of races this is a great deal!!
Along with your entry to the race, your registration gets you a t-shirt and a super cool head-band.
Now I know a few of you are probably feeling a little leery about signing up for fear of getting hurt or not being able to do the obstacles...good news...this is just for fun and you can skip any of the obstacles you aren't sure of if you want! I've done it in other races...it doesn't take away from the fun...and nobody will notice...promise :)
So do it, you don't have any excuses...go sign up! AJ and I are registered for the 12:00 wave and if that doesn't convince you, my mom...yep, my mom who ever so graciously blessed me with her balance and grace will be running too. (I can't wait to see this!)
**I received a free entry to the Hit and Run 5k as compensation for writing this post. However, all opinions are my own and I was going to register for this race anyway...because duh...it looks amazing :)
