I could ramble off a million excuses to you as to why it's been so long since I have posted but, I am going to be really honest with you...
The main reason I haven't posted is because I haven't really wanted to. I haven't had much motivation to sit down, upload pictures, and update you on my life...I have spent the last month trying to survive the last few weeks of school and finalize plans for our wedding, which is less than 2 months away!!! So honestly, all I want to do is...
Right after my final race of the Heartland 39.3 series I had every intention of recapping the race (Running with the Cows) but then I realized race recaps are not my strength...I am not good at taking pictures before/during/after the races...and honestly I swear I black out between the starting line and finish line...so really there is nothing to recap :)

Her race recaps/reviews always have me laughing out loud so after you read her RWTC's review check out all of her other posts...I promise you won't be disappointed :)
Then after the final results for the Heartland 39.3 series were posted, I just knew I HAD to post about my top 15 finish!! But again, I just couldn't find the motivation or the words to create a post...which is sad because when I signed up for this series my goal was to run ONE of the races at a sub 1:45 and I even threw out the wacky idea of running all 3 at a sub 1:45 and possibly placing in the top 15 among women...
Well...I did it...I set this ridiculous goal that I thought was a total long shot and I did it! I was/am ecstatic...but I wasn't quite sure how to put that excitement into words. I am good at talking about my goals...but when I reach them it's hard for me to find the right words to celebrate :) The more time that passed I started to feel like it was too late for a recap or a post dedicated specifically to this series...so here I am...just giving you a boring ol' update :)
In other news...I have joined a gym for the summer and I have taken a few spin classes...and let me tell you something...spin class will make even the most in shape person feel inadequate. I can run for days...but put me on a spin bike and I do everything I can not to fall off and die ;)
I have also committed to the Runner's World Run Streak (#RWRunStreak) and I will be running at least one mile every day for 41 days! I did this last year (and vowed to never do it again) but after an extended break (a few weeks of minimal to no running) I thought this might be the best way to get back at it and build up some base mileage for marathon training which starts mid-June.
Don't worry...I will still be taking rest days...because you know how much I love those!!! I will just run/walk a quick mile on those days and spend lots of time stretching!
Alright, that is all I can muster for today...I'm headed over to a friend's house for lunch...and I am running there....gulp! It's about 6 miles...but I haven't charted it out. I hope it's not too hilly because boy am I sore from Pilates on Tuesday (another class that makes me feel grossly out of shape!)
