Leap Year...

Thank goodness this year is leap year...if not I would have messed up my New Year's Resolution just 2 short months into it! I wanted to post at least 1 blog per month that didn't have anything to do with the other things on the here I am February 29th (a day that only exists once every 4 years) trying to get my blog post in...procrastination is a word I know all too well :)
I don't have a good excuse for why I have waited until the last possible day in February to post this blog...I blame parent teacher conferences, state testing, not really having anything blog worthy to write about, and an overall lack of motivation.

I have been racking my brain for the last few days for something to write about that wouldn't bore the pants off of the 3 people that read my blog ;) I started looking through pictures for inspiration...and then it hit me...I want to start posting blogs dedicated to the amazing people in my is no secret that last year was not one of my best, however it taught me a lot of things about myself and showed me how incredibly lucky I am to have such fantastic people in my life.

When I was looking through the pictures trying to come up with a topic for my blog I came across a picture of me and one of the most amazing people I know. I have only known her for a little over 2 years, but in that time I have realized how incredibly lucky I am that our paths have crossed.

Kristin Chandler-it will forever be Skalanski to me though ;) is the music teacher at my elementary school. Ever since the first day I met her I knew we would be friends, but let's be honest, she never did had much of a choice in the matter. Not only did I stop by her room daily, but she was assigned to work with 5th graders during her open block. This was very convenient for our daily talks and obviously for helping the kids ;)

There are so many words I could use to describe Kristin, but the one that stands out to me the most is genuine. She genuinely cares about other people and is always going out of her way to help others out. I know I can always count on Kristin when I need her the most...whether it be a pep talk at lunch or the perfectly timed e-mail to put a smile on my face :) I feel so incredibly fortunate to have her in my life...and I hope she knows how much I appreciate her.
